Vinyasa

Breath synchronized movement

Vinyasa, which means “breath synchronized movement”, tends to be a more vigorous style that focuses on strengthening the entire body especially the core, arms and legs. Vinyasa Yoga utilizes sun salutations, standing poses, core work, inversions, seated poses, and final relaxation with meditation. The Vinyasa practice is characterized by movement matched to the breathe. This style is also known as Vinyasa Flow because of the smooth way that the poses transition to one another in what is known as a ‘moving meditation’.
